Thurman Whiteside, retired businessman and realtor, is known for his progressive art in acrylics and oils.  He began painting as a hobby.  He has shown at Bath County, the Roanoke Art Show, Nelson Street Gallery, Studio 11 and the Rockbridge County Fair. He is a member of the Rockbridge Arts Guild.
