NOTE: LOCATION FOR THE FAIR ART REGISTRATION AND SHOW IS THE MEZZANINE OF THE ANDERSON COLISEUM AT THE VIRGINIA HORSE CENTER

An Open Art Exhibit will be held as part of the Rockbridge Regional Fair from Tuesday, July 15 to Saturday July 19, 2008.Registration and Show will be held in the Mezzanine of the Anderson Coliseum.The Horse Center is located outside of Lexington, Virginia near Interstate Highways 81/64 and Route 11.The exhibit is organized by the Rockbridge Arts Guild.

 

PRE-REGISTRATION ONLY – NO ON-SITE REGISTRATION
The application form (attached) MUST BE RECEIVED BY Saturday, July 5 .This form completion is final and changes cannot be allowed.

Artwork must be delivered to the MEZZANINE AREA of THE COLISEUM at the Horse Center on SUNDAY, JULY 13 between 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM.

 

POLICIES AND INSTRUCTIONS

ELIGIBILITY:The exhibit is open to any artist working in two or three-dimensional media.An artist may enter up to six pieces.The work must have been completed since August 2006 and must be original.No photocopies, commercial art, work from patterns or kits or Pre-Programmed computer art will be accepted.

DISPLAY INSTRUCTIONS:

-THE WORK (including Children’s work) MUST BE SECURELY WIRED OR CORDED AND FIRMLY ATTACHED TO THE BACK OF THE WORK

-All work must be dry and ready for hanging.

-Works produced on paper must be secured in a safe frame and be suitable for hanging.

-Each entry must be clearly identified on the back with artist information: name, address, title of work, medium and pricing information

-Prior arrangements must be made for any work that requires special handling, i.e. oversized, special hanging requirements etc

-Any entry that presents installation or display problems will be rejected and no refund will be made to the applicant.The Art Show Committee reserves the right to refuse any entry which is deemed unacceptable.

 

SALES: All sales from the show will be handled by the Art Show Committee. A 20% commission is taken and is used to subsidize the exhibit.

ENTRY FEES:A non-refundable entry fee is required as follows.

Show dates will be from Tuesday, July 15 (4 PM-9 PM) and Wednesday through Saturday, July 19 (11 AM – 9 PM).

PICKUP DATES WILL BE SATURDAY, JULY 19, 8:30-10:00 P.M. AND SUNDAY, JULY 20, FROM 8:30-10:00 A.M.

INSURANCE DISCLAIMER:The Rockbridge Arts Guild, the Rockbridge Regional Fair, Inc. and the Virginia Horse Center DO NOT provide insurance for the art work and WILL NOT assume any risks of damage, breakage or loss on any art work.

-Pastels (including oil pastels)stained glass, ceramics, pottery,

I understand that if I fail to pick up art work at the appointed times or fail to make prior arrangements the art work will be disposed of at the discretion of the Show committee.

10:00 AM and 2:00 PM

I agree to pick art work up between 8:30 PM and 10:00 PM on Saturday, JULY 19, 

OR:between 8:30 AM and 10:00 AM on Sunday, JULY 20. 

I understand that the Rockbridge Arts Guild, The Rockbridge Regional Fair, Inc. and The Virginia Horse Center are NOT providing insurance for any of the art work.

It is also understood that the above mentioned groups will NOT assume any risks of damage or loss of any art work.I hereby assume all risks associated with the exhibition of my work.
